Awards ar&pa

AR&PA, the Iberian Biennial of Cultural Heritage, has established two types of international awards:

  • AR&PA Awards for Intervention in Cultural Heritage
  • AR&PA YOUNG Cultural Heritage Project Awards

The AR&PA International Awards for Intervention in Cultural Heritage, the only ones of their kind in Spain, were created in 2000 with the intention of recognising the work of professionals and institutions in the conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage, as well as highlighting those based on the application of innovative techniques.

This activity allows a reflection on the criteria and methodology of intervention in cultural assets. As well as a valuation of the professionals who use their knowledge in the preservation of the cultural legacy that, sometimes, due to their speciality, does not obtain the adequate scope and recognition.

The AR&PA YOUNG International Awards for cultural heritage projects are organised and organised by the School of Architecture and the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation of the University of Valladolid, in collaboration with the Directorate General for Cultural Heritage of the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport.

The International Award for Cultural Heritage Projects is aimed at Bachelor or Master of Architecture students from all over the world, and is intended to reward academic architectural projects carried out in the fields of recovery, protection and intervention in cultural heritage.
