A short summary
WHAT IS AR&PA?
AR&PA, Iberian Biennial of Cultural Heritage, is a social and cultural event with a programme to enjoy and learn about cultural heritage.
It is oriented towards social participation with activities and workshops focused on schoolchildren, young people and families.
Companies and professionals, associations and foundations, owners of cultural assets, public administrations and local and international, public and private entities are involved, with the holding of forums, technical conferences, meetings and congresses for debate on the management of cultural heritage and the exhibition of good practices and projects.
AR&PA 2022 is the thirteenth edition and its content aims to insist on the comprehensive management of cultural heritage, based on preventive and sustainable conservation and on the coordination of actions for its preservation and promotion in accordance with the objectives of the 2030 agenda.
The digitalisation and application of new technologies as tools for diagnosis, characterisation, intervention and accessibility to cultural heritage are of special relevance in this work. All of this is aimed at promoting sustainability in the management of cultural heritage and strengthening the role of citizens in the enjoyment and appreciation of the function and significance of cultural heritage.
All the activities are organised in a content structure that responds to the objectives of the AR&PA Biennial, which have been progressively defined throughout its editions, and to a permanent updating of its programme.
